Gala Games is a play-to-earn Gaming Ecosystem that allows players to own in-game digital assets and earn Cryptocurrency / non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through gameplay.
The traditional Gaming sector is a multi-million dollar industry that generates massive sales of in-game items that can be traded through in-game marketplaces but rarely if ever owned and sold outside the game.
Gala Games addresses this by building and onboarding games that allow players to own the digital assets they earn through gameplay, with the ability to trade these items outside the gaming ecosystem on decentralised exchanges (DEX) in exchange for cryptocurrency.
Gala Games infrastructure was designed and built to support fully immersive metaverse environments to encourage more entertaining game design powered by blockchain technology.
Gala Games hosts a variety of blockchain games developed by their in-house studio and outside developers including Ember Entertainment, Kung Fu Factory, GAMEDIA, Certain Affinity and 22cans.
A network of decentralized computers (operating Founder Nodes) enables Gala Games to deliver play-to-earn games to players.
The Gala Games ecosystem offers a variety of games which continue to attract millions of players to the platform. Popular games include:
Town Star – The first game Gala Games introduced. Players compete to assemble the essential components of a functioning town, such as water points, crops and storage facilities. Winners get a share of the weekly prize pool.
Mirandus – A fantasy role-playing video game where players fight monsters, develop lands and earn rewards for their in-game achievements.
Spider Tanks – A multiplayer online battle arena game where players fight within a range of maps using various armaments.
Fortitude – A player-versus-player (PvP) tower defense game where players apply various strategies to attack other players’ villages and defend their own.
Echoes of Empire – A sci-fi strategy game where players fight over scarce resources distributed throughout the universe.
The largest conventional competitors for Gala Games are:
- Animoca Brands,
- Electronic Arts,
- Ubisoft,
- Activision
Gala Games’ native token is GALA, an ERC-20 token allowing token holders to pay for in-game items and transfer value between users within the platform’s ecosystem.
Gala tokens are also used to incentivise game-play as a reward for reaching milestones within a game.
Gala game assets can be bought and sold on the open market. Developers can also create multi-game assets using this technology.
Gala tokens are also awarded to node operators for securing the blockchain and processing transactions.
Gala Games differentiates itself from its competitors by using the p.Network Bridge application to connect its tokens to the BNB Chain. As such, GALA tokens conform to the BEP-20 token standard allowing holders to use Gala tokens/assets on both Ethereum and BNB chains where they can be traded on popular DEXs like Uniswap.
Though Gala Games runs on the Ethereum network, the team is building their own autonomous blockchain called Project GYRI, powered by the GALA token that will support all DeFi capabilities including staking and NFT creation. The purpose of the network is to provide relief from congestion experienced on the Ethereum network.
The total supply of $GALA is approximately 50 Billion.
With around 14% of the GALA maximum supply currently in circulation, the GALA token has a fully diluted value (FDV) of $2,210,144,352

Around 17 million Gala tokens a day are distributed to Node operators and the Gala Games Conservatorship.
Each year this daily distribution will be halved on the 21st of July.
This mechanism may impact on the sell pressure for Gala tokens.

The main potential is in playing and building within the games to then sell the items as NFT’s. These items can be sold at a number of marketplaces and in some instances can be used in multiple games.
It is also possible to run a node to earn Gala tokens.
